Voodoo Doll

by Josef Webster

It sits there ragged, lifeless

With its sardonic, sadistic smile

It gives me an egregious wink

With its bewitching beady eye,

I grasp it. Unfeeling, unseeing

Possessed, I take out a needle

And plunge it into the doll's woollen viscera,

Jab, stab, slash,

My eyes cloud over with hatred -

Breathe.

Finally.

He’s dead.
