MuseDay: another Muse publicity push!

Updated: Jun 4, 2019

On Tuesday, the passionate and diligent Muse team took over the canteen once again. We had a great turnout, with regulars, core members of the creative team, outliers, curious folk, and oddballs.

Like last term, the canteen did a sterling job providing tasty doughnuts and generally allowing us to be noisy and get in the way. They also let us use the kitchen office as an impromptu recording booth, where people could go into a quiet space and tell their stories - these have been compiled in the latest Muse podcast, here. Louise did the rounds asking people to tell stories about their imaginary friends. Listen to the podcast for a selection of some of those.

We also had a brand new addition to the Muse team this time around, in the form of our badge-making machine! This proved to be hugely popular, with students making their own designs, as well as picking up colourful Muse logos, and cartoons of Sam and Louise, drawn by the fabulous Giselle. Watch this space for the upcoming badge design competition.

This was a fun, enthusiastic atmosphere, with everyone rolling up their sleeves and getting creative. Thank you to all who came along and made it such a memorable afternoon, made all the more so for a spontaneous performance of Beckett's bizarre late play, 'Quad' (1981) (It's actually pretty accurate. If you don't believe me, Google it):

If you'd like to get involved in Muse - writing, editing, drawing, photographing, podcasting, musicmaking or poeticizing, email sam.turton@hurtwood.net / louise.haile@hurtwood.net for more information. Work can go up totally anonymously, or with your name in big, bold, colourful letters. You decide!

Until next time, folks.
